Oldenburg Industrial Park announced as a Missouri Certified Site
The City of Washington was notified by the Missouri Department of Economic Development that the Oldenburg Industrial Park is now officially a Missouri Certified Site.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today that Oldenburg Industrial Park, located in Washington, is now a Missouri Certified Site. As a Missouri Certified Site, the 115-acre Oldenburg Industrial Park indicates it is shovel-ready for companies looking to establish business in Washington.

“We’re excited to announce Oldenburg Industrial Park as Missouri’s latest Certified Site,” said Michelle Hataway, Director of the Department of Economic Development. “This site’s certification sends a strong message to businesses that it is ready for investment and job creation. We look forward to seeing the site help Missourians prosper by supporting the City of Washington’s continued growth.”

As a Certified Site of the Missouri Certified Sites program, Oldenburg Industrial Park joins more than 30 other sites statewide that are recognized as development-ready. Certified sites meet rigorous standards intended to reduce risk and accelerate a company’s relocation or expansion. The certification process evaluates key factors such as utility availability, site access, environmental considerations, land use compatibility, and potential development costs.
“We know we have great parcels, but this solidifies what we’re marketing to potential companies,” said Aaron Griesheimer, Economic Development Director for the City of Washington. “I appreciate the Missouri Department of Economic Development for helping us bring more visibility to our wonderful community.”

In 2021, the City of Washington, through the 353 Redevelopment Corporation, purchased 115 acres located just south of Heidmann Industrial Park with direct access to Highway 100. Named after the city's first Economic Development Director, Richard Oldenburg, the industrial park allows for flexible lot layouts for both large and small projects, with access to industrial-grade utilities and infrastructure.

“Ameren Missouri is proud to power growth for another Missouri Certified Site in Oldenburg Industrial Park in Franklin County,” said Tara Oglesby, Vice President, Energy Solutions and Business Development for Ameren Missouri. “Designations like these send a strong message to prospective businesses looking to grow that our region is ready to serve them. We offer reliable and affordable energy, which helps attract investment, job creation and long-term success.”

Oldenburg Industrial Park currently has more than 75 acres for purchase across four available lots. The city has committed to assisting with water, sewer, and road access. Storm sewers and a stormwater detention basin are complete. This month, construction was completed on the Highway 100 Widening Project. Highway 100, which provides direct access to the industrial park, was widened to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for vehicles entering the park. Specifically, dedicated turn lanes were added for both eastbound and westbound traffic. Those interested can learn more at the site’s webpage.
